Welcome to the Dude Rancher. One of the most notorious hauntings takes place in Room 226, where guests have reported hearing mysterious knocking on the walls, lights flickering on and off, and even the feeling of an invisible presence sitting on the edge of the bed. Some say they’ve woken to the sensation of being watched, only to see a faint figure of a woman standing in the corner. This apparition is often believed to be Annabel, still watching over the lodge she worked so hard to build and run.
Other ghostly activities reported throughout the hotel include unexplained cold drafts in the hallways, strange footsteps echoing in the night, and the faint smell of cigar smoke—perhaps a nod to the many ranchers and cowboys who passed through the lodge over the decades. Some staff have even claimed to hear disembodied voices coming from empty rooms, carrying on conversations that vanish into thin air.
