Golden Belle
The Golden Belle in the Northern Hotel was elegant but edgy, a blend of high-society veneer and subtle scandal—complete with flambé, velvet, and “romantic” art. It served as a rite-of-passage venue: you dressed up, went out, and felt grown-up. Parents, grandparents and kids all share stories connected to that space. It embodied a more theatrical age of dining—where service was as much about showmanship with food gongs announcing flaming kebabs, shrimp flambéed at your table, cherries jubilee, and the fiery “Don Juan” cocktail.
