Some called it Hippy Headquarters. It was a cultural hub circa 1969-1975, when kids were seeking places that felt countercultural, creative, cozy and a little wild. A black-light room inside was particularly celebrated...glowing walls, posters of far-out landscapes, maybe even a mural or two. It sold more than merch: it offered identity, community, late hours, and sometimes live small local acts or listening parties that stretched past supper. Although Headquarters is no longer around, it remains a vivid beacon of youthful curiosity, friendship, and that glorious feeling of walking out of the store under the wide Montana sky, vinyl in hand.
Our Headquarters art is from the EMC Retort, I couldn't find the artist. If you know, E-mail me as I would like to have them approve the usage.
