Born from the potato-flour magic Al & Bob Pelton started in ’46, Billings’ Spudnut scene took off fast—ads show a downtown shop by March 1949 (417 N. 29th), with another remembered on Main Street in the Heights. On Saturday mornings, kid-run bike brigades and door-to-door routes kept offices and neighborhoods supplied—some boxes even made it out to Miles City. And always watching over it all: Mr. Spudnut, the bow-tied mascot from the original franchise days. A family-run, local franchise of a national original.
