The Skyline Club...was perched right on top of the Rimrocks.. Est 1944 just west of the airport. On clear evenings, you’d drive up for dinner dressed in your Sunday best, settle into a corner booth, and drink in the sweeping views of Billings and the distant peaks along with an Old Fashioned or Rob Roy. It felt like fine-city dining with the growing Magic City just beyond the windows. In July 1971, a devastating early-morning fire destroyed it, burning to the ground before sunrise, and though we never knew exactly how it started, locals say seeing those charred beams at sunrise was like watching our skyline vanish
