Opened in January 1946, The Crystal quickly became a downtown favorite. A decade later, it got a swanky remodel, complete with wall-to-wall shag carpet in its new “TV Room” — the height of mid-century cool. Known for its witty, sometimes logo-less newspaper ads, The Crystal has always been about the music — from its early days as a lively piano bar to today’s legendary karaoke nights. This design features an original logo pulled from a vintage matchbook… one we think Hope Frank Converse himself would approve of.
